Quick, go make this bet before they change it. Obviously, the odds are a little skewed, but this is a legitimate title contender getting less than 10 wins on the line. They still have Philip Rivers, who’s been extremely durable. They have a decent backup QB in Tyrod Taylor, and their main players stuck around. Melvin Gordon is threatening a hold out, but the Chargers went 4-0 when he was injured last season. Also, his last performance was a pathetic one against the Patriots (9 rushes, 17 yards). It’s safe to say he could hold out all season and they’d make it work.
Despite a prolific offense led by Rivers, the defense could carry this team to 10 wins. Joey Bosa and the defense ranked 8th in points against last season. They only really lost Jason Verrett from the secondary. Meanwhile, they added Thomas Davis as a veteran presence.
They do have two major matchups with the Kansas City Chiefs, but they proved last season they can stand toe to toe with them. The Chargers were a great road team, which will help when going to Soldier Field, Mile High Stadium and Arrowhead Stadium.
The Chargers over is the best bet in football right now. There’s not much we can count on when it comes to futures bets. The NFL is incredibly hard to predict, and injuries could derail most seasons, but the Chargers seem destined to improve on an already amazing season last year. Yet, Vegas has them taking a major step backwards. Take advantage of this bet while you still can.
