MLB DFS Pitching Primer: Cash Game Ace (Main)

Mike Clevinger (10.7k FD, 11.4k DK) @ Kansas City

I’m well aware that Gerrit Cole is absolutely on fire right now and facing a nearly all-right handed Cardinals team tonight, but he costs a good bit more than Mike “Sunshine” Clevinger who I would argue is in just as good of a spot if not better.

The Cardinals cooled off a little last night, but have been one of the hottest offenses over the last week. Meanwhile, the Royals continue to stink lately and have been held in check by the Indians worst two starter Plesac and Plutko in the first two games of this series.

Clevinger is a great twitter follow by the way if you are into following pro athletes. I have to assume the “Sunshine” nickname comes from his long hair and the resemblance to the character from the Remember the Titans movie.

Back to baseball, Mike C has been excellent now in four straight starts, including six shutout innings with nine strikeouts against the Royals earlier this month. He has a 39% K rate this year (two points higher than Cole) and is actually a bigger favorite in Vegas today than Cole, too.
