MLB DFS Pitching Primer: Top GPP Pivot

Anthony DeScalfani (8k FD, 9.2k DK) vs. Colorado

I was on Mr. DeScalfani in my last GPP article for the WiseTake Nation, but he hasn’t shown up in the Pitching Primer for a while. He was outstanding in that start, whiffing 11 Cardinals over 6 frames and today he faces a Rockies team that I like to pick on when they are away from Coors.

Anthony’s K rate is now up to 25% after last week’s performance and he faces a Rockies team that has seen their strikeout rate swell to 23%. This is a young pitcher who is starting to figure things out and if he can cure his extremely poor splits to lefties, he’s going to be a really good MLB pitcher.

If you look at the game logs, DeScalfani has now strung together four straight quality starts and I really like his chances of doing it again. Using a pitcher in Great American Ballpark can be scary due to its hitter-friendly dimensions, but if DeScalfani can negotiate around Blackmon and Dahl in this Rockies lineup then I think he has the potential to put up a solid score tonight.
