Dana White’s first appearance as president

By Dave Noseworthy

“We are very excited here, we’ve got a sell-out crowd here, five thousand people. Revved and ready to go.”

Boy how things have changed over the past 18 years, from an attendance of 5,000 being considered a success, to breaking the gate record at the world-famous Madison Square Garden. The younger, thinner, and perhaps less confident Dana White of 2001 has changed a lot over the years. His appearance, his voice, and his bank account have undergone a transformation,  but his passion for the sport of MMA and the UFC brand has remained the same and been immeasurable since day one.

Dana has Elite XC Rant

By Davidson Baker

There have been countless instances in which Dana White has amused and unintentionally, yet comically entertained fans everywhere by way of anger-induced media rants.

Given the lengthy tenure in which he has occupied the seat of the head boss, we as fans have quite a lengthy amount of evidence in which Dana’s angry rants can provide the aforementioned amusement and entertainment one rant can entail.

One, however, after all these years, may stand above the rest.

Boxing promoter and former EliteXC founder, Gary Shaw (Who Dana refers to in the clip as ‘The Idiot’) placed all his promotional eggs in one Kimbo Slice’s basket.

When that all went south via Seth Petruzelli KO, slimy details of potential fight tampering surfaced, involving a plot in which Shaw attempted to pay Petruzelli an extra load of cash to take Kimbo to the ground, where many believed Slice was his weakest.

It didn’t quite work out that way for Shaw, and Dana in fact did let the public know how he felt when the dust settled.

“That’s F*cking illegal.”

Still gets us, every time.
