Mike Tyson punked Dana White

By Amy Kaplan

Sometimes it’s the little things that make us smile and while Dana might not have liked this moment so much, we fans sure did. In 2014 White was recorded sitting on a cushy private jet when the scariest boxer of all time, Mike Tyson, walked up and aggressively tapped White on the shoulder and told him to move.

Literally, no one but Tyson could make White move.

Dana White and Matt Hughes share an emotional moment

By Chad Dow

Dana White is a self-proclaimed “angry emotional” person, but even he had a hard time keeping himself composed during the UFC’s debut of A Country Boy Can Survive, the Matt Hughes documentary.

A Country Boy Can Survive is the theme of the UFC hall of famer and former UFC welterweight champion’s life. The 12-time title winner made the Hank Williams Jr. song famous by walking out to it blaring through arena speakers for close to a decade.

But on June 16, 2017, it would become more than a song. Hughes was involved in a serious accident when his truck collided with a train, leaving the Hillsborough, Illinois native with life-threatening injuries. The country boy was in the toughest fight of his life.

Fast-forward to September 2018. Hughes had made incredible improvements in his rehab and the UFC was celebrating its 25th anniversary, a perfect time for White to reveal the documentary.

“I’ve watched it 50 times and I am about to cry still,” White told the crowd.

A heartfelt moment for the often-brash UFC President.
