Donte Moncrief 2018 Recap

Thee’s not a lot to say about last season for Donte Moncrief. He was stuck in the mud with a bad Jacksonville Jaguars offense that finished 19th in passing attempts and 27th in passing yards per game. That was with sharing targets with Dede Westbrook, Keelan Cole, in addition to over 100 targets to the running backs. He did finish with 17 percent of the target share and played in 16 of 16 games. He signed a two year, $9 million contract with the Steelers and that’s where the fun begins.

Dynasty Outlook

It might seem surprising, but Moncrief is only 26 years old. He’s appeared in 69 of his 80 total games, showing some solid durability. Where the uncertainty comes in is how he fits into the Steelers offense moving forward. James Washington might have a higher price tag since they are going within four picks of each other and Moncrief has the issue of being on his third team in three seasons.

Moncrief is a great buy-low for a dynasty team of any sort. If you’re competing this season, he can contribute to a title run to some extent. JuJu Smith-Schuster is the only receiver on the roster with more than 78 receptions, and Eli Rogers is the only other receiver with more than 60. If you are not competing, you can buy a receiver that could be on the cusp of a breakout with a great offense and if you miss, you shouldn’t have to worry about what you gave up. Moncrief is a firm buy in this format.
