Fantasy Football Rankings: Top Five NFL DFS QB’s

Baker Mayfield  – Maybe the tease was too much of a giveaway. Everyone thought when Cleveland drafted Baker last season, that they chose possibly the worst option out of that draft class. Yeah, it’s safe to say that those people were very wrong. It took the Browns a little bit to actually give Baker his shot, but once they did there was no going back.

Mayfield is small for the position, but it has not hindered his ability to shred opposing secondaries. He was frequently featured throwing deep balls to various nobody receivers, and Jarvis Landry. Well, this year he gets one of the leagues divas in Odell Beckham to line up next to Jarvis, and David Njoku who has already flashed some great upside at the tight-end position.

Now keep in mind that he only started in 13 games last year, but he had a 53.9 QBR, with 3,549 yards 27 TD’s, and 14 INT’s. Baker was also 12th in the league in DYAR, at 630, ahead of notable names such as Carson Wentz, Jameis Winston, and Joe Flacco. Mayfield also had an 8,1% DVOA. Yes I know these are not the most appealing stats, but keep in mind he was a rookie thrust into a starting role, with limited weapons.

The addition of OBJ is going to be huge for this team, and we all know Beckham loves to run down the sidelines, and catch those deep bombs. That is a perfect fit for Baker’s game, this will also allow Jarvis to get back to his bread and butter, eight-ten yard slants, curls, and post routes working out of the slot, and the outside both. Keep an eye on this young QB, I expect some big things from him this year.
