Power ranking the NFL offenses for 2019
1. New Orleans Saints
2018 Review: This past season, the Saints finished “only” eighth in the NFL in total yards. Amazingly, it was the lowest ranking by the team in 13 seasons under head coach Sean Payton. Veteran quarterback Drew Brees has had a lot to do with that success and while he didn’t quite look like himself late in the year, he hit on a league-record 74.4 percent of his passes – good for 32 scores (5 interceptions). Wide receiver Michael Thomas led the NFL with 125 catches and versatile running back Alvin Kamara rolled up 1,592 yards from scrimmage and 18 touchdowns.
2019 Key Additions: With running back Mark Ingram on his way out of town, the club inked running back Latavius Murray – late of the Vikings. Speaking of Minnesota, the team also added interior blocker Nick Easton, who figured to take over at center for retired Max Unger. But the Saints wound up grabbing Texas A&M pivot Erik McCoy in the second round. And Brees may finally have the tight end he’s missed the last few years in veteran Jared Cook.

Analysis: What’s not to like about Peyton’s attack? The offense has become much more balanced the past two seasons, the addition of Murray offsets the departure of Ingram and the signing of Cook gives Brees the player the team has lacked at tight end since Jimmy Graham was dealt to Seattle in 2015. There might be an early learning curve when it comes to the center position. But this offense should continue to click on all cylinders.
