15 college football coaches who would be the life of the tailgate party
1. Lane Kiffin, FAU
Did you forget Lane Kiffin was still coaching college football? You shouldn’t have because he saw plenty of success in his first season with FAU in 2017 even though he did take a step back in 2018.
The former head coach of USC and assistant to Nick Saban has a unique personality that might not mesh with everyone, but he has one of the best personalities in college football. If you follow him on Twitter, which I would recommend, he is always poking fun at himself or trolling others and just having a good time.
At one point in time, Kiffin was seen as an immature coach who could be great if he grew up just a bit, but he’s come a long way. He may still have a little too much fun on social media, but he’s got a great sense of humor and isn’t afraid to be the butt of some jokes.
Kiffin has seen just about every level of football and would have plenty of stories to tell but if he knew that he had free reign at a tailgate party, he would be the guy to completely let loose and start doing the worm unprompted.
Also, he’d probably never back down from a dare. “Lane, I bet you can’t drink this entire six-pack and eat seven hot dogs in 15 minutes.” You better believe that he’d accept that challenge.
If I had to invite one head coach in college football to my tailgate, the choice would have to be Kiffin.
