15 college football coaches who would be the life of the tailgate party
13. Dabo Swinney, Clemson
You might think that Dabo Swinney is a little too low on this list, but the two-time national champion head coach doesn’t come off as a party machine.
In fact, Swinney is relatively tame compared to some of the other names on this list and it’s the way he was raised. He’s a religious coach with morals who doesn’t brag, gloat or ever turn anything into disrespectful banter. That’s why so many coaches respect him and he’s a popular figure among his peers.
But just because you’re not a partier doesn’t mean you can’t be a good time. Swinney would be everyone’s friend at a tailgate party and you can bet you’d have about 3-4 heart-to-heart talks with him after a couple of cold ones.
Some might get a little worn out by that, but it’d be difficult to get mad at such a nice guy.
Being the nice guy at a party and everyone’s best friend has its benefits and Swinney would be the first one to go grab you a plate of food or a drink.
