MLB DFS Pitching Plays

Noah Syndergaard – Jumping right into our article is the cover boy. Thor draws the hopeless White Sox in what appears to be smash spot on paper. They have a massive 26% K rate to RHH, hitting around 45% GB.

Thor has been turning a corner in his most recent starts putting up three really good performances in a row. This White Sox team has been one that we have been able to target with some great success, most recently with Kyle Gibson who was the gem of the day in my last article.

Pitch Mix – Thor has been increasing his sinker usage, most recently in July bumping it up to a season high 36%. The fastball, slider, and change all sit around 18%, with the curve at 10%. His breaking pitches are both getting over 50% whiffs, with everything other than the fastball getting over 40% GB including that sinker at 61%.

After two really bad months with his slider, he dropped the ISO on it a significant amount, which is a good sign. He is really throwing hard with the fastball and sinker sitting at 98 MPH on average, a 90 MPH slider, and 92 MPH change. The movement is also solid on his pitches. Overall this is likely a very popular play in cash games, don’t overthink him.
