Main DraftKings MLB picks July 31: Can’t go wrong with deGrom

DraftKings MLB one-off plays:

Two of the three Red Sox homers against Yarbrough are by lefties (Bradley and Devers). I would only use one of them tonight. J.D. Martinez is the other guy I’m interested in. He is 4-7 with three doubles off of Yarbourgh, though he has yet to record any counting stats.

I suppose I see the merits of running someone like Harold Ramirez out there against Berrios, but I wouldn’t do it unless you are desperate for leverage. There is a much better chance of this ending poorly.

If I go after Hendricks at all, it’s probably going to be with the cheap guys. Goldy is just 3-17 lifetime against Hendricks. Yairo Munoz and Kolten Wong are the only ones that have hit him well enough to consider, and I can’t say I’m crazy about either one of them.

If you want to go after Mikolas, Javy Baez has both homers and four of the seven Cub RBI against him. Rizzo has hit him well enough, but the lack of counting stats make him look rather expensive.

Somehow, Vogelbach has two of the three homers against Minor. Domingo Santana has the other. I’m not really interested in any of them if Minor starts. If Minor is dealt, then I’ll play Seager and Vogelbach no matter who takes the hill for Texas. Depending on who it is, this could turn into a Seattle stack.

No White Sox for me, thanks. I can think of better ways to lose money. Unless deGrom is traded. Then I’ll use some Moncada and Eloy.

Giolito has actually been roughed up at home to the point where I don’t really want to use him. There are too many other good options available. The power of Pete Alonso could be an issue for Giolito here. I’m also a big fan of Robinson Cano on the cheap. I’m not going out of my way to cram any other Mets though.
