4. The Browns can become Kings of the AFC North

We know this article is about why the Browns can win the Super Bowl, but in order to do that you have to reach the playoffs first. That has been a problem in Cleveland, where the Browns haven’t reached the postseason since 2002 and haven’t won the AFC North since its formation that same year.

That could very well change this season with the division as wide open as it has ever been. The Pittsburgh Steelers have lorded over the AFC North for years now, but things are a bit tumultuous in the Steel City with stars like Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell exiting in the offseason.

The Baltimore Ravens won the division last season behind a strong defense and rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson, but there are significant questions about Jackson’s ability to run a traditional offense. If Jackson can’t take a big step forward in the passing attack, Baltimore will have a tough time defending its crown.

The other AFC North team is the Cincinnati Bengals, who weren’t expected to do much this year even before A.J. Green got hurt in camp. Green is expected to miss 6-8 weeks, and that could be a big blow for a Bengals’ offense that is short on playmakers.

With all of those flawed teams in the division, there’s no reason why the Browns can’t become the Kings of the North for the first time ever. A division title brings a home playoff game with it, and that could be the first step on the path to the Lombardi Trophy for Cleveland.
