Fantasy Football Mock Draft Pick 9: Rounds 4-6

Coming into round four, there’s an understanding that A. I’m behind on running back and B. I’m about to be almost 20 picks from my next pick. I was disheartened to see Falcons running back go one pick ahead of mine which had been the plan.

That left the next few running backs of Josh Jacobs, David Montgomery and Phillip Lindsay. I’m not a giant fan of any of those three(maybe Montgomery being the exception) so I went a different route – doubled down on receiver and that left me with Robert Woods.

He finished as a top 10 receiver last year and had only two games under 61 yards. That type of consistency can make up for the chances I’ll take with my running back corps.

Once the fifth rolled all the way back to me, Seattle running back Chris Carson made it to me and this was an easy pick in the fifth. The Seahawks finished second in rushing attempts last year with Carson coming off a top 15 season. In addition, Carson was seventh in rushing attempts so he really felt like a value for the team at that point.

The sixth…well, that’s where the draft branched off for me. Since it’s a mock, I wanted to test a theory. One thing I love to do is to stack a quarterback with one of my top receivers. That led me to take a gamble on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Every connection to Adams is double points for me, and that is one of the best duos in football. Rodgers only threw 25 touchdowns last year, so expect that to come back towards the 33 that is his career average. However, I passed on Patriots running backs Sony Michel, James White, 49ers back Tevin Coleman and others. Let’s see how that works out.
