Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 2019 FanSided pick 9 breakdown
Fantasy Football Mock Draft Pick 9: Rounds 10-12
Round 10 probably gave me my biggest regret of the entire draft. I took Chicago receiver Anthony Miller, who I do like and I think will build on his 2018 rookie campaign. The receptions and yards weren’t there at just 33 for 423, but the 12.8 yards per reception was solid and he scored seven touchdowns.
He had a 13 percent target share in the red zone as a rookie, but I whiffed badly. Texans running back D’Onta Foreman was still on the board and should have been the pick as a fifth receiver was total overkill. Thankfully, it’s just a mock.
Since I messed up in the 10th, the 11th left me with the grossest pick of my draft in Buffalo running back LeSean McCoy. In honesty, I’m just taking him with the hope he gets traded during camp. At least in the 12th round, 49ers back Matt Breida was there to scoop up with the uncertainty of the San Francisco backfield.
This is where the Miller pick came back to haunt me. If I take Foreman in the 10th, I could have taken Steelers receiver Donte Moncrief in the 11th instead of forcing McCoy. That would have been the much better path.
It’s a cheap way to get a route into the Steelers offense, and I don’t have to take a running back over 30 on a bad team. Don’t draft like this because it’s not the way to build a team. Breida at least soothed some feelings a little bit.
