24. Chicago White Sox, 46-579 3rd in the AL Central (ranked 22 last week)

The White Sox traded long-tenured reliever Nate Jones to the Rangers for minor league arms Joe Jarneski and Ray Castro. But despite reports saying teams were interested in Closer Alex Colome, the White Sox decided to hold tight outside of moving Jones. According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the White Sox are also receiving bonus pool money from the Rangers.

In other news, the White Sox activated SS Tim Anderson after spending over a month away from the club, last playing on June 25. Unfortunately, the White Sox had to place 3B Yoan Moncada on the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain that should keep him out for two weeks. But the White Sox are struggling as of late, losing eight of their last 10 games and fans focus will turn towards September and whether or not top prospect OF Luis Robert will be called up.

23. Seattle Mariners, 47-64, last in the AL West (ranked 26th last week)

The Mariners moved three arms at the deadline, relievers Roenis Elias and Hunter Strickland are heading to Washington DC while veteran starter Mike Leake will be moved to Arizona, getting minimal in return. Seattle does recoup $6 million of the $25 million Leake is still owed, but the deal does allow Seattle to bring up one of their young arms like Matt Wisler or Justus Sheffield.

Over their last 10 games, the Mariners have posted a 7-3 record, beating up on the Rangers and Tigers this past week. However, the easy schedule stops this weekend when the Mariners have to play the Astros — expect the Mariners winning ways to be over shortly.
