FanSided Fantasy Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Rounds 2-3

2.06 Antonio Brown, Oakland Raiders (WR1)

This was a spot where I fully expected either Dalvin Cook or Joe Mixon to make it back to me. As you can see, that wasn’t the case, leaving me to make a decision between Juju Smith-Shuster and Antonio Brown. As of right now, I am higher on AB, even though he is an Oakland Raider.

Brown could push for a 30% target share in Oakland. If he happens to get to this number, I’d imagine he will finish inside the league’s top three in targets.

This past off-season, the Raiders parted ways with both Jared Cook and Jordy Nelson. Between the two, there are 189 targets available. Tyrell Williams will see some work in the offense, but Brown should take over a majority of this leftover work.

3.07 Amari Cooper, Dallas Cowboys (WR2)

I was more than thrilled to get Amari Cooper in this spot at the back end of the third round. This made him the 13th receiver off the board. I currently have Cooper as my WR6, which makes this pick scream value getting him at half the price. Running back was my priority, as I considered Leonard Fournette and Josh Jacobs. I just could not pass up on Amari Cooper.

Following his trade to the Cowboys, Cooper was a different player. He was inconsistent at times, but changing teams in the middle of the season is not as simple as it may look.

In Coopers nine games as a Cowboy, he averaged just under six catches on eight targets, for 80 yards per game. He showed up in the playoff game vs. Seattle, with a line of 9-7-106.

Randall Cobb and Jason Witten are now in the picture, while Cole Beasley is out. Cooper is the clear number one option in the Cowboys’ offense. This might be the year we see a breakout.
