Fantasy Football: Jordan Reed | Washington Redskins

The fact that Reed has missed 31 games over his six-year career and drastically decreased his ADP, which could result in him being an elite buy-low candidate here.

Last season, Reed played 13 games, 7 more than he appeared in during the 2017 season and the most he’s recorded since 2015. He led the entire team in target share (18.30%) and was second in the team in red-zone target share (14.63%). He also posted his highest yards-per-catch rate since 2016, while posting his lowest overall catch rate (64.3%).

Looking at previous seasons, that catch rate looks like an outlier, as Reed has never posted a catch rate below 74% up until last season. Diving deeper and looking at the last time he played at least 13 games (2015), he posted a 87-952-11 line, finishing as a top-5 tight end on the season, showing just how high his ceiling is when healthy.

Based on reports so far throughout the offseason, not only has this been Reed’s healthiest camp of his career, he’s continued to impress, per Ben Standig of The Athletic:

On top of that, it’s not uncommon for rookie quarterbacks to look towards tight ends for check-down options and safety over the middle of the field, which we could see from Dwayne Haskins a lot in 2019.

Reed’s current ADP of 160.2 (ESPN) and projected rank of TE15 provide little to no downside on taking a flyer on him seeing that he comes with top-5 tight end potential.
