Fantasy Football Mock Draft Pick 2: Rounds 1-3

Alvin Kamara

I knew that Saquon Barkley was going to go off the board with the first pick and so I had to make a tough call here between Kamara, Zeke, and McCaffrey. I had to roll with Kamara as he has solidified his role on this incredibly high-powered Saints offense.

Kamara provides so much value in PPR scoring leagues as he caught 81 passes out of the backfield last year.

Many thought coming into last year that he wouldn’t get enough touches to make him a true “workhorse” or “bell-cow” back, but Kamara averaged almost 13 carries a game to go along with his receptions and was second in the league with 14 rushing touchdowns.

This guy is a dynamic player and the Saints are going to feed him the ball 20+ times a game whether it’s on the ground or in the air.

Chris Godwin

You might have noticed I somehow ended up with three former Penn State wide-outs on my roster, but I can assure you that my bias towards my Alma Mater did not influence those picks. The second round seems early to grab Godwin, but he’s climbing up everyone’s draft boards this preseason.

He was fifth in the league in end zone targets last year and he’s going to be a major part of this Tampa Bay passing game this year. I see him having a huge breakout season and I don’t feel like I reached here at all. The kid is a stud with great size and hands, he’s going to haul in a ton of balls this year and probably is a good bet for double-digit touchdowns.

Derrick Henry

Henry took a while to emerge as the lead back in Tennesee last year but once he did, he racked up some huge games and finished fourth in the league in rushing touchdowns with 12.

He’s such a big bruising back who is going to get all the goal line work for the Titans and has freakish speed for a guy his size. He broke a 99-yard run last season and averaged almost five yards a carry. I expect the Titans to feed him the ball a lot this year in a very run-heavy offensive scheme.
