MLB DFS Pitching Primer: Top GPP Pivot

Zack Greinke (9.7k FD, 9.8k DK) vs. Colorado

Greinke will make his Houston debut tonight at home against the Rockies and is about 1000 bucks cheaper than Wheeler on both sites. The match-up isn’t as good, but is still really good as Colorado is a team we can pick on outside of Coors (and sometimes at Coors, too). The Rockies have the second-lowest implied total on the slate so Vegas is as big of a believer in Greinke as I am.

Zack was having a great year in Arizona and will look to keep that going for his new team. When you look at what Houston’s pitching coaches did to Aaron Sanchez already (6 no-hit innings in his first Astros start), you have to get pretty excited about how they might tweak an already effective Greinke and his arsenal of pitches.

Greinke has solid career numbers against the Rox and just posted a 35 DK point game against this team last month.

He also got beat up against them in Coors earlier in the year, so it’s not as if he has handled them every time out. Colorado has a 22% K rate and middling offensive production on the road. I love his upside in this spot and I think he’s probably safe enough for your cash games if you can’t get all the way to Wheeler, too.
