A big improvement is expected in Year 2

While I already touched on the optimism brought by Frost as head coach, one of the reasons Nebraska fans are so excited heading into this season is the idea that the Huskers can make a big improvement from year one to year two just like his team did at UCF.

Frost came to UCF and took a terrible program and helped it win six games in the first season before leading the Knights to a 14-0 mark in 2017, as well as an American Conference title and a Peach Bowl victory.

Obviously, Nebraska is not Central Florida and the Big Ten isn’t the American. It won’t be as easy to take over the conference and start winning championships. At the same time though, as we have seen with guys like Nick Saban, Dabo Swinney and Urban Meyer, elite coaching makes a huge difference.

Frost isn’t on that level, yet. But as his team showed last year, the Huskers won’t back down from elite competition and with his record, it’s easy to see why fans are expecting at least four-five more wins in 2019.
