Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Round Seven

Targets
My regular targets at this point of the draft are Corey Davis, O.J. Howard, Will Fuller, Jared Cook, N’Keal Harry, D.K. Metcalf, Parris Campbell. Satisfied with my running backs I am looking to address either tight end or WR3 in round seven.

Available players
Will Fuller, N’Keal Harry, D.K. Metcalf, Parris Campbell, Curtis Samuel, Rashaad Penny, Royce Freeman

Selection
At this point of the draft I was looking to add to my receiver corps. There were some interesting names on the board, but in round seven value hunting is my priority. I have N’Keal Harry ranked higher than Will Fuller, but have participated in enough drafts to know that Harry is likely to last at least another round.

This is especially true with reports of him struggling in training camp making the rounds for the past two weeks. Will Fuller is a mammoth upside WR3, albeit one with a weekly bust floor. KeKe Coutee was not good for Fuller’s value in 2018 and it will be interesting to see what type of consistency a healthy Fuller can generate with a healthy a Coutee.

Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Round Eight

Targets
My target this round was the player I decided to pass on in round seven in favor of Will Fuller in N’Keal Harry. I am not worried about him losing a starting job in early August.

Available players
N’Keal Harry, Parris Campbell, D.K. Metcalf, Royce Freeman, Kalen Ballage

Selection
I have Harry ranked as a top-20 receiver and am thrilled to be able to land him in round eight. I have not been scared off by training camp reports as Harry was always more of an upside pick than someone who was NFL ready like the Patriots UDFA star Jakobi Meyers.

While both players can play both inside and out, it is Meyers who can star in the slot and eat up coverage on the outside. He was able to shine in college despite playing with a more highly regarded prospect in Kelvin Harmon.

Harry fits the Patriots offense perfectly and will have touches manufactured for him in the short and screen games and should be one of the Patriots main downfield and red-zone weapons. His WR2 ceiling has not changed with the training camp reviews, but it has given him a lower weekly WR4 level floor.

Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Round Nine

Targets
In round nine I was targeting a value tight end or the best value I could find at running back or wide receiver. Based on the names on the board after my last pick my targets were Royce Freeman, Kalen Ballage, Courtland Sutton, and Larry Fitzgerald

Available players
Courtland Sutton, Emmanuel Sanders, DaeSean Hamilton, Ronald Jones, D.K. Metcalf

Selection
With my running back targets off of the board my eyes immediately went to Courtland Sutton. I also considered his teammates DaeSean Hamilton and Emmanuel Sanders.

Sanders is coming off of a torn Achilles and is no guarantee to play in week one. However, when he does play he will steal valuable slot snaps from DaeSean Hamilton.

As a result, Sutton looks like the best pick at this point even if I have concerns about his fit with Joe Flacco. Sutton is a talented receiver I expect to thrive with Drew Lock. Joe Flacco is more of a throw to the open player in the middle of the field than take risks outside type of QB at times, and that could result in frustrating level of inconsistency for the sophomore wideout. However,

Sutton has monster upside and is the type of 50/50 ball winner who can boost his numbers with an impressive catch radius. An Alshon Jeffery lite, Sutton has 1,000 yard receiving, 10 touchdown campaigns in his future. If Flacco is willing to test coverage, it could happen as soon as this season.
