FanDuel MLB DFS Breakdown: Cash Game Arms
Walker Buehler (11.4k) vs. Arizona
Walker is coming off a masterpiece in his last start when he struck out 15 Padres in a complete-game effort. After one poor start against the Snakes back in March, he’s had two excellent outings against them since.
Buehler is the safest of the high priced pitchers today but he’s so priced up that you may want to consider one of the other two options below in order to have more flexibility for bats.
Wade Miley (9.2k) @ Baltimore
Miley has been super consistent for the Astros this season and is yet another example of how Houston can fix pitchers and resurrect their careers. He’s a pretty sizable favorite on the road today in Baltimore, and while I don’t love using pitchers in Camden, Miley has done a great job this year at getting ground ball outs and minimizing any damage against him.
He’s allowed three or fewer runs in seven straight starts and tossed six shutout innings against the Orioles back in June.
Julio Teheran (9k) @ Miami
I don’t love paying 9k for Teheran, but he may be the best bang for your buck today in cash. He’s pitched better this season than most people realize, and specifically has dominated Miami as he’s piled up 18 scoreless innings against them this season across three starts.
Right-handers against the Marlins is a tried and true match-up in DFS this season and Teheran’s sinker is going to get a lot of weak ground outs from Miami hitters.
