FanDuel MLB DFS Breakdown: Cash Core Bats

Corey Dickerson (3.1k)

Hopefully, we get Dickerson leading off tonight (and just in the lineup as he hasn’t been starting every day since being traded). He’s homered in two of the three games he’s started for the Phillies and was heating up for the Pirates before being traded.

He’s priced very fairly here and has a good match-up with Beede. If we don’t get him in the lineup then consider Matt Carpenter around the same price as an alternate core piece.

Gio Urshela (3.9k)

Gio is on fire! Sometimes a guy just gets locked in and thinks he can hit every pitch he sees out of the park, and that’s the plane of existence that Urshela is on right now. With five homers in his last three games, he’s simply too hot to fade mainly because he’s going to be 50% owned in cash games and you don’t want to fade him and watch him keep mashing.

He’s still under 4k so just bite the bullet and plug him in. Reid Foley isn’t terrible, but the Toronto pen isn’t great either…more on the Yankees later.

George Springer (4.4k)

Springer is leading off for the Astros and in a great spot to go deep here tonight against Dylan Bundy. Bundy has been giving up long balls to righties more than lefties this year and Springer leads the world in leadoff homers. Even if he doesn’t go deep, a multi-hit game with some stolen base upside is certainly a likely outcome.
