Fantasy Football Mock Draft Pick 2: Rounds 7-9

Corey Davis

Opening up the seventh round with another wide receiver? You bet I did. CD is not only my favorite player, for my favorite team, but he is a star in the making. In 2018 in his second year, Corey put up almost 900 yards, on 65 catches, and 4 TD’s.

Davis has flashed massive potential, especially towards the end of last year, catching balls with one hand, and frequently seen burning corners down the sidelines. The only problem? He is catching balls from that disgrace in Marcus Mariotta. Outside of that, Davis will put up his first, of many 1,000 yard seasons.

Jordan Howard

In need of a second running back, I patiently waited until the eight round, and found a diamond in the rough in Jordan Howard. While he isn’t the most flashy back in the league, his downhill running style, and occasional patch catching ability is still something that I have interest in.

Howard will likely also be the starter in Philly, at least for part of the year. If he has a good camp, can stay healthy, Jordan should be a good option especially this late in the draft.

Austin Ekeler

This pick was a no brainier to me. With Howard being a somewhat unreliable option, and Melvin Gordon is also still holding out on his contract. Even if Justin Jackson was to open up the year as the starting back, Ekeler will be very involved in this offense. His pass catching ability alone makes him an easy last round draft in PPR leagues.
