The above picture is of an interview because the match isn’t that exciting

Not much to say about this one really. Noam Dar defeats Ashton Smith and his necklace tattoo, in a matchup that was never in doubt for the Scottish Supernova. Smith gets in some good-looking offense, but he’s nothing more right now than a solid hand that gets thrown in the air and gets the crowd to go “whoop!” He remains without a win in NXT UK.

The big story is not even really a story so much as it’s just Dar being Dar and probably lying to get ahead. In a post-match interview with Radzi, Dar proclaims that he could have gone to any brand he wanted in WWE — he must’ve been in high demand after his much-heralded run as “lackey for Enzo Amore who was neither Drew Gulak nor Tony Nese, two guys who have gone on to become Cruiserweight Champion” on the main roster — but got a big, fat, delicious contract offer from NXT UK he couldn’t resist.

Already his claims seem suspect because like, buddy, NXT UK just aired six episodes taped at a music festival, the brand isn’t exactly swimming in disposable cash. Dar goes on to say that his contract also guarantees that he’ll have a spot on any major events, TakeOver: Cardiff included.

Later, Travis Banks emerges from Johnny Saint’s office to inform us that’s actually completely false, exposing Dar — notorious in-ring trickster — as even more untrustworthy than we could have ever imagined. Or, about as untrustworthy as we already imagined.
