Cardiff here we come!

At three weeks out, the Cardiff card seems to slowly be forming. We already know that Tyler Bate and WALTER — strong boys of varying sizes — will be wrestling for the United Kingdom Championship, while Kay Lee Ray and Toni Storm are meeting over the NXT UK Women’s Championship.

It seems probable that the NXT UK Tag Team Championship match will end up as a triple threat between Grizzled Young Veterans, Gallus, and whatever fun team name Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster get for themselves (according to the internet and Instagram, it’s South Wales Subculture). It just feels unlikely that there would hype for the two of them “earning their spot the next few weeks” for a big show in their hometown, only to not include them on the card. That would be way too cruel.

If it’s going to be limited to five matches like a traditional TakeOver, you would think the final two matches would be Piper Niven versus Rhea Ripley and Joe Coffey versus Dave Mastiff, with the latter of course being a Buried Alive Match, just to speak this into existence. Should Cardiff buck the TakeOver trend/Noam Dar not be lying about his contractually guaranteed TakeOver appearance, maybe we’ll see Dar taking on Travis Banks. After all, Banks does talk a lot about missing the first TakeOver in Blackpool and he did maybe just blow up Dar’s spot.

That’ll do it for this NXT UK recap. Why is a Joe Coffey versus Dave Mastiff Buried Alive match the best idea ever? Will Xia Brookside ever get her win back? Can you ever trust Noam Dar again? What other matches would you like to see round out the TakeOver: Cardiff card? Let us know your thoughts on those questions in more down in the comments below.
