Will the Holdout involving Ezekiel Elliott Affect his Draft Stock?

The biggest question is how far will Ezekiel Elliott drop in drafts if it becomes increasingly evident that he will miss some significant time this year. Before this summer, Elliott was competing with Saquon Barkley for the consensus number one overall pick in universal drafts.

After the news has come to light that Zeke may not be in the Dallas backfield to start the 2019 campaign, his draft stock has taken a slight hit, but nothing drastic. Right now Elliott is being drafted as the fourth overall pick, just behind Saquon Barkley, Alvin Kamara, and Christian McCaffrey. While it is not a considerable drop, his stock will continue to dip if his situation doesn’t improve in the next few weeks.

Take Le’Veon Bell for example. At this time last year, many fans myself included, were all still optimistic that he would eventually show up to the Steelers facility before the start of the regular season. Bell and Todd Gurley were neck and neck for the top overall selection in all drafts last season.

Many fantasy drafts were conducted in mid-August last year where people were drafting Bell either number one or two overall. The belief was that Bell did it back in 2017 and reported in early September, so why would it be any different this time around?

Well as we all know, everyone became sorely disappointed as Bell was not showing his face around when Week 1 arrived in 2018.

As the weeks wore on, it became more and more obvious that the star running back was not returning to the Steel City any time soon, causing many fantasy teams to incur a massive hit to their chances.
