FanDuel MLB DFS Breakdown: Top GPP Stacks
Minnesota Twins vs. Adam Plutko
As I mentioned earlier, I am an Adam Plutko non-truther. The guy is a total fraud. He has an xFIP of 5.38, a 15% strikeout rate, and a high fly-ball rate to both righties and lefties. How he has managed to maintain decent surface-level statistics is beyond me, but it’s smoke and mirrors, people.
This guy has major regression coming and I’ll be loading up on the Twins tonight. Despite losing slugger Nelson Cruz to the injured list, this Twins lineup is still loaded with good hitters and a lot of power. Their Vegas total has moved all the way up to 5.8 runs and that still seems low to me.
Houston Astros vs. Aaron Brooks
Yes, the Astros burned me last night. And no, I am not going to let recency bias keep me from loading up on them again. They were held in check by the Orioles best pitcher, Bundy, but are facing a truly terrible pitcher in Aaron Brooks tonight who of course is backed up by the worst bullpen in baseball.
Houston is implied for over 6 runs again tonight and you can stack them up any number of ways. The lefties are firmly on my radar tonight, along with Alex Bregman who really hits sinkers well.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Joe Musgrove
It’s a sad day when I can no longer advocate using Pirate pitchers or hitters, but alas my favorite team has become one of the worst in baseball. Musgrove was the last Pirate pitcher you could target for a while, but even he has been bad more than he’s been good lately.
He surrendered 8 runs to the Mets in his last start and gave up 5 runs to these Cardinals a few weeks ago. I never love stacking the Cards (as the FanSided Fantasy staff can attest to) but you have to consider stacking against this terrible Pirates staff and bullpen on a nightly basis.
