MLB DFS Pitching Primer: Cash Game Ace

Zack Greinke (10.8k FD, 10.7k DK) @ Chicago White Sox

He should be uber-chalk but he’s hands down the safest play on the slate. Greinke is priced up, too, but it’s really a good idea to lock him into cash games as the lack of other appealing options on this slate makes him even more attractive. He’s having a great year and is looking to have his first big outing for his new team.

He stumbled a bit in this Astros debut but has the best match-up on the slate tonight as he faces off against the hapless White Sox offense. Chicago has fallen on extremely hard times and without Moncada in the lineup, they’ve been using guys like Ryan Goins, Matt Skole and Jon Jay in the top 4 of their lineup.

They continue to strike out a ton and were just stymied by Oakland’s pitchers in their last series. When Tanner Roark and Chris Bassitt are dominating your offense, that’s certainly not a good thing.

I fully expect Greinke to bounce back here and put up a good game. He should be above 50% in cash games so just eat that ownership and move on. You can always get a little crazy with some bad pitchers in GPPs, but take the floor of Greinke over the field here in cash games tonight.
