Ohio Stadium, often called, “The Horseshoe,” for its u-shape, is where the Ohio State Buckeyes call home. With its double-deck design, the fans feel as if they’re right on top of the field, giving the home team a clear-cut advantage. The first game was in 1922 against Ohio Wesleyan.

The Shoe’s current capacity is 102,082, but its largest crowd – 110,045 fans – showed up in 2016 when rival-Michigan came to Columbus. The Buckeyes have posted a remarkable 60-5 record since 2010 at the Shoe, too, including five undefeated seasons at home in that span.

From the stadium to the football team, a game-day experience is special at the Shoe. However, it doesn’t end there. When the Ohio State Marching Band performs, “Script Ohio,” one of the biggest honors is dotting the, “i.” One band member, typically a sousaphone player, is given the honor.
