Fantasy Football Running Back to Avoid: Lamar Miller | HOU

Current ADP: 79.7 (ESPN)

While I’m sure this isn’t all that surprising after the Texans went out and traded for Duke Johnson, what should surprise you is the fact that Miller’s ADP has actually risen 7.7 spots over the last week on ESPN and I find it hard to believe the masses missed the Duke Johnson trade.

While Miller posted his highest yards-per-carry average since 2014 last season (4.6 ypc), he saw his lowest amount of rushing attempts (210) since 2015, his lowest amount of targets (35) since 2013 and the lowest catch percentage of his career.

He did lead the team in red-zone rushing attempts (30, 55.56% of team total), but only recorded 3 touchdowns inside the red zone, while quarterback DeShaun Watson scored 5 times in the red zone.

In addition to the declining volume, the Texans will now welcome back healthy wide receivers Will Fuller and Keke Coutee as well as welcome new-comer Duke Johnson Jr. to the backfield, which will likely lead to Miller losing hold of 3rd-down opportunities altogether.

Who I’d draft instead: Tarik Cohen (ADP of 81.0)
