Fantasy Football Passing Game Impact:

With such a small sample size it is tough to put too much into these statistics but with a coordinator that threw it 61% of the time, it’s hard to think that the running game is what will lead this offensive attack.

The passing game success will hinge on the health of its offensive weapons, which isn’t ideal as several have struggled staying healthy. The Bengals get back Tyler Eifert and A.J. Green, although it appears Green will miss the first couple of games with an ankle sprain.

Picking up the slack will be Tyler Boyd who caught 76 passes for 1,028 yards last season. They also have two very good pass-catching backs in Gio Bernard and Joe Mixon.

With an offensive line that has already been hit with the injury bug, the short passing game must produce making Mixon, Eifert, Bernard and Boyd’s elite production a must.

Fantasy Football Running Game Impact:

Another red flag when taking a deeper dive into Zac Taylor’s offense was that Lamar Miller was averaging 4.5 yards per carry and he only finished with 195 on the season. Granted the sample size is minuscule, it shows a lack of commitment to the run game.

It is something that all Joe Mixon owners should have some concern over. The one positive to take away from Taylor’s run game down in Miami was that the team finished dead last in attempts but beat out nine teams in terms of production, as they finished 23rd in rushing yards.

I would imagine spending the last couple of years with the best offensive mind in football (Sean McVay) that this offense will Taylor around the running game more so this year than in his past. Pun intended.
