PGA FanDuel Picks – Top Tier Picks: ($11,000+)

Jon Rahm – $11,800 – (GPP)

Before I talk about why I love Rahm this week, I want to touch briefly on my strategy for this 70-man, no-cut event. First of all, the first thing you should realize obviously is that you get four days of scoring no matter what.

This puts the mid-tier guys basically all in tremendous spots to outscore their respective salaries. Cash games will be very tough this week, and will likely be decided by a golfer or two, so I will cut back my play and go more GPP heavy.

There is plenty of value to pay up in cash, but I would only do that if you are dead set that your guy in this tier will top-five or better. If he doesn’t, it might not work out for you unless you nail that value pick. With the balanced strength of this field, going balanced will be my approach for cash games, however, I will be playing them pretty lightly.

Basically, nearly everyone in this $11K+ range is in play this week with a few exceptions, and for now, I am 100% on Rahm. With the way Rahm has played over the last couple of months, he is my top bet to top-five this week, as he has done just that four times in his last six events.

Justin Rose – $11,400 – (GPP)

Aside from Rahm, Justin Rose is right in that mix of fellow top golfers in the world who are playing just as consistent but coming up just short. Rose has five straight top-20’s coming into Medinah this week, highlighted by a T-3 at the U.S. Open. While close to contention heading into Sunday last week at the Northern Trust, his round of even-par led to a T-10 finish.

While Rose is a lock for me at least for around 30% of my 25 GPP lineups, I will say this price point within a couple of hundred dollars each way from Rose here is elite as well. Although he isn’t listed here, it is hard to argue against J.T. this week with the way he is playing, and I also look for Patrick Cantlay to play this course very well as well.
