PGA FanDuel Picks – Mid Tier Picks: ($10,000 – $11,000)

Adam Scott – $10,900 – (Cash)

Moving into the mid-tier we start with my favorite cash play this week in Adam Scott. We will start with the most important thing, he was back on the long putter throughout the entire Northern Trust, and he finished the tournament with positive strokes gained across the board, good for a fifth-place at 13-under par.

It was quite the bounce-back for the Aussie, as he was coming off of the missed cut at the Open Championship and a T-40 at the St. Jude Invitational. He was one of the hottest golfers in the game prior to that rough stretch, when he ripped off five straight top-20’s, and why he decided to experiment with the short putter again remains a mystery.

Scott has been one of the best all season long in the most important stat this week in SG: tee-to-green, and he will anchor my cash build this week. There is a solid chance he will end up my highest owned GPP play at this price as well.

Bryson DeChambeau – $10,000 – (GPP)

The spotlight turned to DeChambeau in the wrong light this weekend at the Northern Trust, as I am sure you have heard plenty about his debacle on the eighth green by now.

My fellow Minnesotans and content providers over at Daily Fantasy Pod posted an almost 2.5-minute scene on Twitter which showed DeChambeau lining up an eight-foot putt from several different angles, while Justin Thomas knelt on the side of the green and looked at his imaginary watch. The worst part about it was the fact that the putt ultimately sped about four feet past the cup.

As the video made its rounds and was picked up by every major golf outlet, plenty of pro golfers chimed in, and many in regards to this evolving slow-play problem. Bryson took it as a personal attack, and his anger on the issue as a whole was pretty evident in his press conference, where he basically only wanted to make it known that he isn’t the only one out there taking his time.

My stance on the issue is that DeChambeau was in the wrong here. Never on a putting green should it take you more than a minute on anything shorter than 10 feet or so, and it just seemed so obvious when watching the video there was no regard for anybody else, which just isn’t fair to the guys he is playing with.

I think he was a little rattled by the negative attention, to say the least, and he ended up finishing T-24.

So where does that put me this week? Very interested. The price has dropped even further, and I have little doubt this whole thing will be in the past once again by the time we tee off on Thursday morning.

DeChambeau checks all of the boxes here at Medinah, and if he can stay out of his own head, I love his chances at a huge bounce-back. I won’t have a ton of shares, but I love playing the villains in this spot.
