DraftKings MLB daily notes:

Kolby Allard was solid in his debut, and I would gladly use him again if he weren’t a) $8,300 and b) playing the Baby Jays. There’s too much right handed power in that lineup. Vlad Jr. and Bo Bichette are front and center. Randal Grichuk clobbers lefties as well. So does Teoscar Hernandez when he’s on, and he certainly seems to be right now.

Sean Reid-Foley has been solid for the Jays, but there’s no way I’m paying $8,800 for him. He has little strikeout upside against a team that doesn’t strike out a ton to begin with. That 1.50 WHIP strongly hints that regression is coming. Texas also hits righties much better than lefties. Choo, Nomar Mazara, and Rougned Odor are my favorite targets here.

The White Sox hit lefties well, they are hitting .354 against Miley in 65 at bats, and Miley has a 7.33 career ERA on the South Side. This is a cheap way to go after Miley, who has a 3.79 road ERA this year. That’s still a strong number, but Miley doesn’t really notch enough strikeouts just in case the Sox get into him. Welington Castillo and Jose Abreu have the homers. James McCann and Tim Anderson have also hit him well.

Kyle Gibson is what we thought he was: an average pitcher. Average righties have not fared well against Milwaukee this year. Yelich is back, but I can’t say with certainty that he’s back to blasting a homer every half game or so. Moose and Eric Thames are probably better plays for the price. I want some exposure to Gibson today.

There are plenty of places to take shots at Robbie Ray, the most glaring being Charlie Blackmon. Blackmon is 20-45(.444) with five homers and 12 RBI. Arenado is 14-40(.350) with two three homers and nine RBI. Ian Desmond has a pair of homers against Ray as well. So does Trevor Story. His career numbers at Coors are hard to argue with though.

Kyle Freeland is pitching better lately, but Arizona has hit him hard so far. Carson Kelly, Christian Walker, Nick Ahmed, David Peralta, and Ketel Marte have all homered off of him before. I’m comfortable taking shots with any of the above today.

After a strong couple of weeks on either side of the All Star break, Tyler Beede is back to bad. He has allowed 18 runs in his last four starts. However, Oakland’s offense isn’t as good as the Phillies, Rockies, or Cubs, the teams he has faced in that span. I can see throwing a dart with Beede, but he’s allowing quite a few homers of late as well. Marcus Semien, Matt Olson, and Matt Chapman look better to take a shot with than Beede.
