MLB DFS Pitching Primer: Rankings and Review
This is where I give you my final rankings for both cash games and GPPs. Remember, rankings for cash are based on safety, while rankings for GPP are based on their ceiling and point-per-dollar upside.
Remember on DK, I prefer to pay up for at least one high-priced pitcher in cash and on FanDuel I prefer to pay up in cash more often than not.
You really need to have Kershaw in your cash game lineups today, especially if you’re playing on FanDuel where you simply can’t afford to have a mediocre or bad performance from your cash game pitcher.
On DraftKings my favorite pairing for cash games will be pairing Kershaw with a cheaper arm like Gonzales. In GPPs, I think pairing Kershaw with Jackson is interesting, or using Hamels and Gonzales. Either way, you’re spending roughly the same amount of salary.
If you play mainly on FanDuel try not to spread your ownership out too much among different pitchers guys, otherwise, you are probably hurting your chances at winning a GPP by getting the right stack with the right pitcher.
Reminder, it’s MME season! FanDuel is now offering a nickel arcade in addition to their quarter arcade if you want to practice building those CSV files and building 150 lineups.
DraftKings also has dime and quarter arcades, too! Lock in your favorite pitchers and stacks and let the optimizer do some of the heavy lifting, you’d be surprised how often it will come up with combos that your human brain would have never considered.
