EVIL (4-5) – A-Block

Wins: Kota Ibushi, Will Ospreay, Zack Sabre Jr. & SANADA
Losses: Lance Archer, Bad Luck Fale, KENTA, Kazuchika Okada & Hiroshi Tanahashi

Finishing his tournament with his lowest point total in three years, EVIL comes out of the G1 with very little success. He came up short in both of the main event matches against Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada but did manage to defeat his Los Ingobernables de Japan stablemate, SANADA.

EVIL’s key win came on the A-Block’s second night of action where he scored a victory over the eventual winner of the tournament, Kota Ibushi. That win will grant EVIL a chance to take Ibushi’s Wrestle Kingdom 14 briefcase and go on to headline at the Tokyo Dome.

While a second win over Ibushi would give EVIL the chance at Kazuchika Okada’s title, it’s his stablemate, SANADA, who showed he’s capable of beating Okada. With Shingo Takagi’s move to the heavyweight division and SANADA’s newfound success, EVIL’s rank in LIJ is beginning to come into question.

Juice Robinson (4-5) – B-Block

Wins: Hirooki Goto, Jon Moxley, Shingo Takagi & Toru Yano
Losses: Jeff Cobb, Tomohiro Ishii, Tetsuya Naito, Taichi & Jay White

The loveable Juice Robinson lost his smile when Jon Moxley came on the scene and felt fans made him an afterthought. He changed his boyish looks, stopped talking in backstage interviews and became more focused on himself rather than the fans.

The result saw him finish higher than the year prior and he managed to get his revenge on Jon Moxley his way — clean. Juice’s success can be attributed to his newfound focus as he now will look to regain the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship from Jon Moxley.
