Fantasy Football: Bold Predictions and Hot Takes

We’re going to start off with one of my favorites here – Evan Engram. In 2017, with a full season, Engram was able to garner 115 targets and pulled in 6 touchdowns. With Golden Tate still fighting his 4 game suspension and no news coming from that along with Sterling Shepard being injured, this offense is looking miserable.

If anything, that actually helps us be able to target Engram a bit later than where he should finish. Not to mention Odell is gone now the number of target to go around has dramatically increased.

Saquon is going to be a large part of the passing game again this year, don’t get me wrong. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t still a ton of targets to go around. My bold prediction here is that Engram finishes as a top 3 tight end. I’m not crazy enough to put him above Kittle and certainly not Kelce but I truly believe he can finish above Ertz.

My next bold prediction is in regards to Seattle running back Chris Carson. This offense is going a bit under the radar what with the excitement around Arizona, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Los Angeles, etc.

However, Russell Wilson is a monster and can easily put up top 5 quarterback stats from one week to the next as he did last year. I heard an interesting stat today where he actually broke a record throwing to Tyler Lockett and achieved a perfect QBR in doing so.

All of this is to say Carson is a primary ball carrier in an excellent offense. There are also reports coming from camp that he is catching the ball extremely well in camp and they plan to target him more. My bold prediction is Carson finishes with 1200+ rushing yards and 500+ receiving yards. I have to imagine that kind of season would end up putting him in the top 5-8 running backs at year end.
