NFL DFS – Wide Receivers

Preston Williams MIA WR

Think of the highest owned player you can remember, increase that number, and that’s probably where Preston Williams will be Friday night. Even still, it’s going to be hard to ignore the rookie phenom from Colorado State.

The buzz he’s been causing during training camp has only been magnified by his excellent debut last week. My only fear is that the exact same thing was said about Miles Boykin just a couple of days ago, and he delivered exactly zero points while carrying 50% ownership in the main gpps on Thursday night.

While he did lead the team in targets last week, it wasn’t by a huge margin, and you have to wonder if Miami might start to think about preserving their newfound treasure for the regular season.

Even so, his ownership will be so high that if he erupts you’ll be toast without him, and if he busts you’ll probably still be able to contend in your tournaments with enough other quality plays. Fade him at your own risk. If you’re looking for another Dolphins wide receiver, consider Isaiah Ford.

Javon Wims CHI WR

Wims most likely isn’t good enough for Nagy to worry about resting him, but he’s certainly among the best wide receivers who are expected to play for Chicago. So it stands to reason that if you are playing Chase Daniel and want to stack him with a wideout, you’ll want one of the guys who is sure to get his snaps at the same time as Daniel.

Wims showed what he’s capable of last preseason by recording 7 catches for 89 yards in Week 1, and 4 catches for 114 yards and 1 touchdown in Week 4. Hopefully his lackluster performance last week will even enable you to get him at considerably lower ownership than he registered last week.

Bobo Wilson TB WR

This is really just a matter of leverage. Does the average DFS player know that Bobo actually saw playing time throughout all four quarters last week? Spencer Schnell and Justin Watson will be the guys most of the field will be targeting, but Bobo carries the same upside and will have a fraction of the ownership.
