2019 NFL Fantasy: Late Round Running Backs
#2 – DEVIN SINGLETARY |BUFFALO BILLS|
Devin Singletary is quickly making a name for himself in Buffalo. He has been used in the passing game through the first two preseason games catching three passes in each of them. He is believed to be in line for the third-down role, and rumors of LeSean McCoy possibly being cut or traded seems to hint Singletary could win the early-down role as well at some point. He also has to contend with Frank Gore as well, who, despite his age, is still playing well enough to be on the field.

I would try and grab Singletary as your fourth or fifth running back somewhere by round twelve. He is definitely someone that could win the lead job in Buffalo by midseason and be a consistent fantasy producer. Should one of McCoy or Gore be let go or traded, you will likely have to move him up a round or two to get him. Now for number one.
#1 DARWIN THOMPSON |KANSAS CITY CHIEFS|
I am all aboard the Darwin Thompson hype train big time! He is working his way up the depth chart in Kansas City and could be the lead guy early on this season. Damien Williams is the starter right now, but I am willing to bet a large sum of money that he will not play all 16 games this season, I wouldn’t be surprised if he played in 6 or less. Carlos Hyde is on his fourth team in three years and is entering his age 29 season. He is nothing spectacular and could even be cut before the season starts, he’s on a pretty cheap one year deal for $2.8 million this year.
Thompson has been exciting to watch during the first two preseason games the Chiefs have played. In his first game against the Cincinnati Bengals, he had 5 carries for 22 yards and a highlight-worthy 29-yard receiving touchdown. In his second game against the Pittsburgh Steelers he had 4 carries for 30 yards (7.5 ypc). He has also been getting some red zone work with the starting offense in practices, it’s only a matter of time for him to be the lead back for Kansas City. Keep an eye on your draft to get a better idea of when to make a jump on Thompson. I am going to be looking to take him between rounds 10-12 but may take the leap sooner depending on how my drafts are flowing.
