Daily fantasy golf: FanDuel PGA – Low tier picks ($8,000-$10,000)

Tony Finau – $9,500 – (Cash/GPP)

While Rahm has been consistently hot all season long with the high finishes, Finau has rounded into form at the perfect time as far as money goes.

He jumped from 19th to 12th in the FedEx Cup standings with his solo 4th place finish last week at the BMW Championship, and he can make a move into the Wyndham Rewards Top 10, or even win the whole thing with a win this week at East Lake. He gained a starting stroke for this week with the jump in the standings and will start things off at 4-under par.

Finau made a huge jump in the standings with his solo third-place finish at the Open Championship. Considering how much he struggled at times this year, the fact that he has a chance at this point while some others are out is surprising.

The new scoring format obviously favors those that are out accumulating as many points as they can throughout the season, and that is why we see Sungjae Im still alive without a win all season, and Tiger Woods out, despite winning the Masters.

Back to Finau. He still has some miscues on some short putts, but the rest of his game was outstanding at Medinah Country Club last week. He led the field in strokes gained in approach, tee-to-green, and around the greens and he will likely be popular this week because of it.

However, I am not quite all in here, but I do love this play. East Lake will play much different than Medinah, but Finau does have the iron game here to keep it going. In previous TOUR Championships, Finau finished T-15 last year and T-7 in his debut in 2017. This is likely another 40-50% ownership spot, but also a very difficult fade.
