MLB DFS – Building Our Bats:

Ready for a new stack? Yeah let’s get into a team Picks and Pivots rarely covers.

Just kidding!

It is a day that ends in Y so you know I am right back on the Los Angeles Dodgers stack tonight.

Listen, the reality is, while I may argue to stack this team seemingly every time they face a bad pitcher, the truth is that the rest of the industry and the field very rarely goes as Dodger heavy as I think they should. One night after dropping 16 runs and facing a Blue Jays bullpen game, the Dodgers ownership was laughable once again. I rolled with a 6 man stack and was able to get Will Smith, Corey Seager and Justin Turner all single-digit owned.

This is a team once again that has one of the highest IRT’s on the slate at 5.6, will be in one of the few games without weather issues and will face off with RHP Jacob Waguespeck and the Jays beleaguered pen.

Rinse and repeat.

The Dodgers have 5 batters in the projected lineup (assuming Smith gets a day off), with an ISO of .250 or higher against RHP with Cody Bellinger, Max Muncy, Joc Pederson, Corey Seager and Matt Beaty all hammering righties in 2019. In a small sample size this year it has actually been the righties that have given the Jays right-hander the biggest problem with a 2.38 HR/9 and a .250 so do not overlook Justin Turner in the midst of this stack.

While the Houston Astros bats are likely the “best stack” on the slate against Jordan Zimmermann, the pricing on Houston is such that you simply cannot get a full stack WITH Gerrit Cole as every batter in the top 6 is $9.6K or higher on FantasyDraft. With Cole being a priority for me, you can drop down to a slightly cheaper 6 man in the Dodgers and still get a high upside offense, at likely lower ownership based on recent trends.
