NFL DFS – Wide Receivers

Curtis Samuel CAR WR

Perhaps the most hyped player during training camp, Curtis Samuel has been turning heads with big play after big play. Cam Newton is slated to see his first action this preseason, and Samuel will finally have a chance to show what all the buzz is about. Due to a shoulder injury last year, Newton was unable to really uncork the deep ball we’d grown accustomed to, but after an offseason of rehab, Newton is reportedly back to 100%. Rivera said he wants to see 3-4 good drives out of his starters, and Samuel might only need a few touches to be one of the better plays of the evening.

Calvin Ridley ATL WR

With Julio Jones expected to be miss Thursday night’s game, Ridley should see an uptick in targets from Matt Ryan. That’s really all that needs to be said. Ridley caught 2 of 2 targets last week, and showed last year that he’s a big play waiting to happen.

Preston Williams MIA WR

Preston Williams went from Canton-bound after Week 1, to colossal DFS bust after Week 2. You’d have to be crazy to trust him again after he was only able to reel in 1 catch on 6 targets, right? At least that’s what I’m hoping the majority of the field is thinking for Thursday’s slate of games. It’s obvious Josh Rosen loves to look to Williams, and even if Williams sees a majority of his snaps with Fitzpatrick, we know the kind of magic he’s capable of creating while under center. Time to plug Williams back into your lineup while the field is looking another direction.
