Because sure, why not, Travis Banks versus Noam Dar is added to TakeOver: Cardiff, rounding out the match slate. Frankly, if they do end up only running five matches on the show, this spot really should have gone to Rhea Ripley and Piper Niven. Banks versus Dar has not had nearly as long of a build, and feels more like a match they would tape prior to TakeOver to be aired on the TakeOver fallout episode.

But, it does pay off two stories at once. Banks gets to wrestle on a TakeOver after being forced to miss Blackpool, and Dar gets the match he claims he was contractually entitled to. We may never know what benefits Dar’s contract actually provides him, but for now he’s been proven truthful.

Also, we see a promo package hyping the Last Man Standing match between Dave Mastiff and Joe Coffey. It proves that both men can count to 10, which is really irrelevant, because neither of them is going to be counting out the other anyway. That’s the ref’s job! Last Man Standing remains played out, but this should still be a hell of a match in Cardiff.

That’s all for this recap of NXT UK. Can Tyler Bate summon the strength of soy to pin WALTER and win the United Kingdom Championship? Just how embedded in Toni Storm’s head is Kay Lee Ray? Is the reign of Grizzled Young Veterans atop the tag team division destined to end?
