WWE NXT: The 5 count for August 21, 2019
By Matt Black
5. Everything else
We did have one other match on the show, with Shane Thorne picking up another victory against another member of the NXT Breakout Tournament. This time it was the man known for his “Australian Strong Style,” Bronson Reed. It was a solid match and Thorne continues to impress as a singles competitor on the black and gold brand.
We got a very exciting announcement that a rematch several months in the making is finally taking place next week on NXT, as Keith Lee will go one-on-one with Dominik Dijakovic. Both men are finally healthy and ready to go and we will get the rematch we all deserve in one week’s time. We have no doubt this will be the best thing on the show next week.
Last, but certainly not least, we heard from the NXT North American Champion The Velveteen Dream as he was wheeled out on the stage by two women wearing his t-shirt. He runs down the price of his shirt and glasses but says his win at TakeOver pinning Dunne was priceless. He then basically tells Strong if he wants a one-on-one match with him for the title, he would have to prove that he deserved it. It will be interesting to see how the Messiah of the Backbreaker replies to this next week.
That wraps us up for week’s edition of the NXT Five Count. This was a really good show from top to bottom and we’re sure we will get more of the same between now and September 18.
