Slate Overview: I say this all the time in Picks and Pivots, but this has never been and will never be a simple best plays column and my goal is always to discuss the slate makeup and roster build strategy.
I bring that up again today because telling you to stack Coors Field is not anything overly analytical that will be unique but the fact that a path exists to a game stack here that feels, dare I say, safe (gulp) – is what really stands out to me.
We have two arms that seem far too cheap considering their recent form and match-up that they have already put up 20+ fantasy points in – if you get 40+ from Houser/Smyly here again tonight, with $10K+ per bat, you are set up extremely well in all formats.
Now sure, the Red Sox/Rockies could flop and at inflated ownership the pivots could rule the night, but I also see a path to a game stack here that we rarely get such clarity on and for this night, I will happily eat the chalk and hope I fall on the right side of it.
Good luck all!
