MLB DFS Pitching Plays – Starting Pitchers

Walker Buehler  – Buehler has been on fire to close out this season. He gets a rematch with the Padres, who he put up a career game against last time out, pitching a complete game, and 15 strikeouts, good for 79 FanDuel points.

The Padres have a 25% K rate, 44% GB rate, and a .162 ISO against RHP. Buehler on the year, has a 3.31 xFIP, 29% K rate, 44% GB rate, and 43% HC on the year. He does give up more power to RHH, but he has a 30% K rate against them as well. Overall this is a spot that Walker will dominate in, and should be one of the highest owned plays on the board.

Luis Castillo  – Anytime we get the Marlins on the slate, we have to be seriously considering the opposing pitcher. On the year, Castillo has a 3.49 xFIP, 28.5% K rate, 55.7% GB rate, and 37.2% HC rate. These are elite numbers, and Castillo also has a nasty change, and slider that are getting great whiffs on the year.

Miami has a 25.8% K rate, 50% GB rate, and .121 ISO against RHP. Luis is a slight discount from Buehler and JV, both options that will likely be more popular, so this is an excellent pivot in GPP’s.
