MLB DFS top plays August 27: Aces for days
Top MLB DFS Hitters – 1B and Catcher
Freddie Freeman – Freddie is my top GPP play at first base today. He will draw Thomas Pannone, and that atrocious Blue Jay bullpen. Pannone gives up 43% FB, and only 30% HC to LHH, but Freeman has been known to hit lefties very well throughout his career.
With a .191 ISO he should be able to do well in this spot. We really want to play the Braves in hopes that they get to Pannone early, and draw the bullpen out. They make for an excellent GPP stack.
Mitch Moreland – Likely a popular cash game option, Moreland will be at Coors field against Rico Garcia. I normally like targeting inexperienced arms at Coors, and today will be no different. Mitch has a .291 ISO, 19% K rate, and 37% FB and HC rates against RHP. We will want to get as many pieced to this game as possible, and Moreland is a great start.
Matt Adams – “Fat Adams” will be back against righty Aaron Brooks, who has been really bad. Anytime a bad RHP is up against Adams, he is firmly in play. Brooks has a .276 ISO, and 40% HC against LHH with a 16% K rate. Matt hits 50% FB, 41% HC, and a .274 ISO against RHP. I really like the Nationals against Baltimore, and Adams is very cheap for his upside.
