FanDuel MLB DFS Breakdown: Cash Core Bats

Juan Soto (4100) – Outfield

Soto let me down last night, as did the rest of the Nats, but I am right back on him tonight. He’s been having an incredible August with 9 homers already this month and he has one of the best individual matchups on the slate as Wojo is really bad against lefties and has a major fly ball tendency. He’s the cornerstone of any Nats stack and an excellent one-off play for cash games tonight.

Nolan Arenado (4500) – Third Base

Arenado is at home…against a lefty, so expect him to be very chalky today in cash games. But it’s well warranted as Nolan is hitting .338 at home this season and has 6 homers in his last 9 games. He faces Eduardo Rodriguez tonight who is a fly ball pitcher, which is the perfect recipe for an Arenado dong. If you want at least one piece of the Rockies offense tonight, make sure it’s Arenado.

Mike Trout (4600) – Outfield

Trout continues to do amazing things on a baseball field and has done it so easily that we forget just how freaking good he is. He’s sitting at 43 home runs and 100 RBI with another month of baseball to play. He’s simply the best hitter in baseball and I don’t think there’s anyone even close to him when it comes to his combination of power, average, and speed.

He’s facing a bad pitcher in Ariel Jurado tonight and will probably get a few at-bats against a bad Texas bullpen, too. Jurado has a reverse splits tendency and Trout has better numbers this season against righties, too. He’s hitting .306 against righties compared to .263 against lefties and 33 of those 43 homers have come against righties. I’ve got enough cap space for him in my lineup, let’s jam him in!
